Pre-Installation¶
This guide covers the server installation from the perspective of a new installation on a server OS that has never had Oracle Database installed. We highly recommend installing on a new Virtual Machine (VM) or new server hardware.
If you do not plan to provision a new server, make sure you uninstall any previous version of Oracle Database. It's important to make sure Oracle Database has been completely removed and no folders or registry keys are left before proceeding with a Oracle 12c database installation.
System Requirements¶
- Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 (x64)
- Minimum requirements should meet Oracle Database 12c recommended system requirements. See Oracle Database 12c documentation for more information.
Important
We only support x64 bit Operating Systems
Software Requirements¶
- Oracle Database 12c version 12.2.0.1.0
- Lode Database Utilities version 10.20
You can download the Oracle 12c Database directly from Oracle by creating a free account. However,to ensure the correct version is downloaded for compatibility with our product we have hosted the files on our site. Contact Lode Data Support for the download link and password.
Server Installation¶
Prerequisites
- Verify current Oracle Database backup files (DMP) exists
- Make sure all Windows Updates are current
- Download Oracle Database 12c
- Download Lode Database Utilities
- Unzip installation files
